Wow, what an awesome discovery for cats—feline pheromones!
Every morning between about 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., you can find me in the cat exam room at The Drake Center. We use a Feliway feline pheromone diffuser to help keep our kitty patients relaxed and comfortable while they are here, and, well, it's my favorite thing.
The Drake Center was one of the first hospitals to become certified by the American Academy of Feline Practitioners as a Cat Friendly Practice. What does this mean? Well, our doctors and staff really like cats. Ninety-five percent of our staff own cats and consider them to be very important family members. That's why we want all cats to have a great visit with us.
While I am not so happy about sharing my exam room with other cats early in the morning, I do like the thought that other cats can feel as safe and loved as I do while they are here.
