Dealing with atopic dermatitis in pets is stressful enough without having to worry about the cost of medication. The Comfort Club can help ease financial worries with big savings on Atopica.

What is atopic dermatitis?

Atopy is a term used to describe an environmental allergy and atopic dermatitis is a chronic skin disorder that results from this type of allergy. Transdermal or inhalant allergies are caused by topical allergens—like pollens, dust and mold—to which the pet’s immune system overreacts. These are similar to the causes of hay fever or asthma in humans. The allergens are absorbed through the skin or inhaled and an allergic response occurs, often resulting in seasonal, generalized itching. Atopic animals will usually rub, lick, chew, bite or scratch at their feet, muzzle, ears, armpits or groin, causing hair loss and reddening of the skin. Others may only experience chronic ear inflammation or infection.

What is Atopica?

Atopica, or cyclosporine, is a medication used to treat atopy (immediate hypersensitivity) in dogs and cats. This medication is designed to control itching from the immune cell level and is approved for long-term use.
