“It’s so much more than a dog… It’s community, it’s education, it’s HOPE, ” said Christine Langager; whose son is receiving therapy at the Comprehensive Autism Center.

In honor of Giving Tuesday 2015, the Good Dog! Autism Companion Organization chose two families this holiday season, who they say,“deserve a give-back”. Both the Langager’s and the McCarty’s have sons living with autism, and they are very active in giving back to the community. This inspired the organization to start a campaign to raise the funds in order to provide each family with an autism service dog.

Christine describes her experience having Drake be a part of her son’s therapy, and the moment they decided a service dog was a must for her son Cameron:

…Cameron doesn’t like to talk about himself, he has social anxiety. So meetings at the Comprehensive

Autism Center are especially upsetting to him. (One meeting) Drake was there, she put her head on

his lap and he spent the entire time playing with her tail, rubbing her ears, and petting. And he actually

participated! (He) answered questions, responded, and gave suggestions of what he thought would

help him. Since verbally expressing his thoughts is rare, it was a major breakthrough in his therapy.

We hope that you will watch the video and see the impact that Drake is making as a facility dog. More importantly,we hope that you will join us in giving to such a miraculous organization that changes the lives of families.

Winston Churchill once said,“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give ”. What better way to give this holiday season than by helping to touch the life of a child who will forever be changed by your gift.
