Our girl is quickly closing in on the 5-month mark—can you believe it?

Drake boarded with us for a few days this week while her caretaker was out of town and we loved having her! She napped at the front desk, entertained our clients, played with other puppies outside and even got to go home with a different member of our staff each night.

According to her trainer, Drake is now in a typical “teenage” period, challenging her place in the pack. This is normal development for a puppy her age.

Having excelled at “sit” and “come,” she is now working on new commands “leave it” and “down.” She is also teething, which means lots of chewing and losing the last of her baby teeth.

In addition to her training, Drake will be joining us for several events over the next few months, including The Drake Center’s benefit garage/bake sale on June 22, Cardiff Dog Days of Summer on August 10 and the Surf Dog Surf-a-Thon on September 8. We hope to see you there!
