We have a new doctor that has joined The Drake Center family, and we couldn't be more excited to introduce you to her! We sat down with Dr. Borsack and asked her to tell us a little about herself.

When did you decide to become a veterinarian?

Dr. Borsack: I grew up surrounded by animals; we had dogs, cats, turtles, parrots...So I have always loved animals and knew that I wanted to be a veterinarian.

Tell us about your experience as a student and in the field.

Dr. Borsack: I first went to UC Irvine and I spent my weekends at the Wetlands Wildlife Rescue Center in Orange County. I had a great experience in Costa Rica studying parasites in sloths. For the past five years I have lived in Australia attending the University of Melbourne. I graduated with honors in 2015 with my DVM (doctor of veterinary medicine) degree. I also worked in a general practice in Melbourne called All Creatures on Hoddle.

What pets do you have at home?

Dr. Borsack: I have three dogs, Marley, Rags, and Jagger. I also have three desert tortoises. Marley's hobbies include surfing, sleeping, and riding in cars (haha).

What are some of your interests & what do you like to do in your free time?

Dr. Borsack: My veterinary interests include surgery and ER. In my free time I like to hike, run, and surf. I really enjoy the beach and spending time with my friends and family.

Welcome aboard Dr. Borsack! We are thrilled to have you here.
